Bank Mandiri Donates IDR 5 Billion To Build An Islamic Center In Cipayung, East Jakarta

JAKARTA - PT Bank Mandiri Tbk. distributed Rp5 billion in corporate social responsibility (CSR) assistance for the construction of the Islamic Center of the Islamic Association (Persis) DKI Jakarta in the Cipayung area, East Jakarta.

President Director of Bank Mandiri Darmawan Junaidi said the provision of support was in line with moral behavior (trustworthy, competent, harmonious, loyal, adaptive and collaborative) which became the work culture of a state-owned company.

"We realize that the role of houses of worship as a medium for inclusive learning for the people is very important," he said in a press statement, Tuesday, September 21.

According to Darmawan, through the development of the Islamic Center, people can not only learn about religion, but also about economics and socio-culture.

"We hope that people will feel the optimal benefit from the existence of this Islamic Center," he said.

According to the plan, funding support of IDR 5 billion will be used for the renovation of the Al Ittihad Mosque building, the construction of supporting facilities such as educational buildings, such as halls, classrooms and MSME storefronts, as well as the main gate of the Islamic Center area.
