Residents Of Long Beluah Village Lost Their Homes, Regent Helped Rp15 Million Per House Burned

TANJUNG SELOR - Bulungan Regent Syarwani went directly to the location of the fire in Long Beluah Village, Tanjung Palas Barat District, Bulungan, North Kalimantan (Kaltara).

Regent Syarwani accompanied by a number of related regional apparatus immediately met the victims who were temporarily accommodated at the Long Beluah Village meeting building.

"Last night I saw firsthand the condition of this fire accident. On behalf of myself and the Bulungan Regency Government, I also felt the sadness of the residents affected by this disaster," said Syarwani, Tuesday, May 14.

Syarwani revealed that the intense fire that occurred in RT 9 and 11 of Long Beluah Village had scorched 20 houses inhabited by 22 heads of families (KK) with 79 people.

"Local governments will be ready to assist, in the form of material and moral support," he said.

"I have asked the relevant agencies, namely the Social Service, the Food Security Service, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the West Tanjung Palas Sub-district Head and the Long Beluah Village Head to immediately distribute emergency assistance, such as blankets, ready-to-eat food and others," he continued.

At the location of the fire, the regent together with the Social Service Agency and BPBD Bulungan also distributed at least 1 ton of rice, hundreds of children's food packages, ready-to-eat food, mattresses, blankets, rolled tents, kitchen utensils, baby needs and other emergency equipment.

"I believe the need for fire victims is much greater than what we help," he said.

The Regent also instructed the Population and Civil Registry Office (Disdukcapil) of the Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) and the Bulungan National Land Agency (BPN) to help the public whose important documents were burned down due to the disaster.

"I ask that the victim's data collection be carried out immediately and help make new documents such as diplomas, land certificates including community population documents affected by the disaster," he said.

The district government through disaster funds in the 2024 Bulungan Regional Budget will provide IDR 15 million assistance for each burning house, so that it can be rebuilt.

"Hopefully this assistance can help the families of the victims," he concluded.
