Prabowo asks for further biodiesel study, B60 targeted for 2028

KARAWANG - President Prabowo Subianto asked that the development of biodiesel not stop at B50. After inaugurating the Mandatory Biodiesel B50 in Karawang, West Java, Thursday, July 9, he immediately touched on the target of B60 in 2028.

B50 is a mixture of 50 percent solar and 50 percent palm oil-based biofuel. Meanwhile, B60 means that the content of the biofuel is increased to 60 percent.

"Continue, don't stop at B50. If you can, B60," said Prabowo.

During the event, Prabowo asked when B60 could be implemented. The answer that came up was 2028.

"B60 2028," said Prabowo.

Prabowo asked scientists from universities to continue to conduct studies. He also thanked Pertamina and all parties involved in the development of B50.

According to Prabowo, the biodiesel program is a long-term work that started in 2008. He said that the achievement of B50 is not only the result of the current government, but also the continuation of the previous government.

"This is also the achievement of the governments before me. Because this has been from 2008. That was the SBY government, followed by the Jokowi government, at the end I continued," said Prabowo.

He described this program as a relay. If it is not continued, the result will not reach the B50 stage.

Prabowo also asked for the names of parties who were instrumental in the process leading to B50 to be prepared. He wants to give them a mark of honor.

"This is not about rank, it's about work, service, results for the nation and the state. B50 is a great result for the nation and the state and the people," he said.

Prabowo said that oil palm farmers were also expected to benefit from this program. He said that the goal of development was to make people more prosperous and enjoy the wealth of their own country.

"Our people must prosper and we must not be humble. We are a rich country, our people must also enjoy that wealth," said Prabowo.
