Maintain People's Purchasing Power, Government Disburse Transportation Incentives Semester II-2026

JAKARTA - The government is preparing various incentives in the transportation sector to maintain people's purchasing power in the second semester of 2026.

The program includes discounts on land and air transportation that will be valid during the school holidays and the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period.

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, said that the government had allocated a budget of Rp190 billion for the transportation discount program during the school holidays.

He added that this program is estimated to be used by around 3.07 million people.

"Well, it is prepared directly, where for the school holidays, a budget of Rp. 190 billion has been prepared, the beneficiaries are 3,074,889 people," he told the media, Tuesday, May 26.

In addition, the government has also prepared similar incentives for the Nataru period with a budget of IDR 161.4 billion, and the program is targeted to reach around 2.87 million beneficiaries.

"Meanwhile, this will also be prepared for Nataru, we have prepared it, the budget is IDR 161.4 billion, and the beneficiaries are 2,874,381 people," he said.

Airlangga added that in the aviation sector, the government again presented a 30 percent discount on economy class air tickets as well as the Government-Underwritten Value Added Tax (PPN DTP) facility.

He said that this policy is aimed at supporting community mobility during the holiday season.

Meanwhile, the government has prepared a budget of Rp. 472.7 billion for the air ticket discount program during the school holiday period with a target of around 2.3 million economy class passengers.

Meanwhile, during the Nataru period, the government will also provide a DTP VAT facility for aircraft passengers with a total budget of IDR 722 billion and is projected to be used by around 3.7 million passengers.
