Minister of Transportation Predicts 2026 Homecoming Realization Could Approach 154 Million People

BANDAR LAMPUNG - The 2026 Lebaran Transportation is said to be Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi has a higher chance of movement than the survey figure.

"The forecast figure for the movement of people in the 2026 Eid period is 143.9 million people, or a decrease of around 1.75 percent compared to 2025 of 146.4 million people," said Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi in Bandarlampung, Tuesday, quoted from ANTARA.

He said that the movement of people on the 2026 Lebaran Transportation had the potential to exceed the survey figure. Because in 2025 the realization of the number of people's movements reached 154.6 million people.

"Seeing the results of last year's survey, we have to anticipate, because there is a possibility that the realization will be greater or close to last year's figure," he said.

He explained that the mobility of the community towards Lampung Province must also be anticipated, even though it was not in the top five favorite destination provinces nationally. However, Lampung is a favorite destination area for people from Jabodetabek.

"Lampung is in the top five favorite destinations in the Jabodetabek area, which is estimated to have a total of 778,67 thousand people moving. It seems that people from Lampung are many in the Jabodetabek area so that this also needs to be anticipated, especially at the Bakauheni Port," he said.

According to him, although Lampung Province is not in the favorite destination area, it is still necessary to anticipate an increase in movement originating from other areas, because Lampung is the gateway to the island of Sumatra.

"This is the basis for all of us to continue to prepare the 2026 Lebaran Transportation optimally and maximally. Especially in areas with high mobility such as in Lampung Province," he added.
