This momentum is a manifestation of the company's commitment to placing occupational safety as the main foundation of operational sustainability, especially in entering the transition phase towards the commercial operation of the nickel smelter.

In line with the direction of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) at the opening of the 2026 National Mining K3 Month which emphasizes that safety is a strategic investment of the industry, MMP continues to strengthen the K3 management system as an integral part of productivity, operational reliability, and responsible corporate governance.

As part of this commitment, throughout 2025 MMP managed to achieve the main K3 target, including maintaining Zero Fatality in all operational areas. The company also recorded significant safe working hours with more than 10 million hours of work without Lost Time Injury (LTI). This record reflects the consistency of the application of disciplined and comprehensive safety standards in the smelter environment.

With an average of around 3,000 workers and work partners throughout 2025, this achievement is proof that the safety culture at MMP continues to be strengthened through active collaboration of all employees, strict operational supervision, and continuous improvement of risk management systems.

MMP's commitment to building a professional and reliable K3 ecosystem is not only reflected in the company's policies, but is also realized through the strengthening of a safe work culture, improving the competence of human resources, and readiness to face emergency conditions in all smelter operational areas. This is in line with the company's efforts to ensure safety is an integral part of long-term business sustainability.

Totok Risdianto, Division Head of Operation MMP, emphasized that K3 management is a strategic investment that supports the reliability of the company's operations in the future.

As part of strengthening the Occupational Safety and Health (K3) system and operational readiness, throughout 2025 MMP has gradually equipped emergency response capacity with adequate personnel and supporting facilities. The company activates a medical team consisting of one doctor and five paramedics operating in two shifts, and forms an Emergency Response Team consisting of eight personnel and is also divided into two shifts to ensure readiness to handle emergency conditions in the work area.

In addition to strengthening human resources, MMP also carried out an increase in supporting facilities through the procurement of one unit of fire truck and various medical and emergency equipment that are relevant to the smelter's operational needs. In strengthening cross-stakeholder coordination, MMP also cooperates with Basarnas for handling emergencies in the waters, BPBD Balikpapan for emergency response on land, and the Balikpapan Pertamina Hospital as a reference for further handling if an evacuation process is required. further medical services.

Entering 2026, MMP continues this commitment by setting a number of improvement steps focused on improving emergency preparedness. This strengthening includes plans to build more permanent and representative medical and emergency response spaces, optimize the functions of all fire hydrants and fire prevention systems, procure various additional devices to support rapid response, to plans to provide ambulance cars as part of a more integrated emergency evacuation system.

All of these initiatives are strengthened by updating work procedures in each area, identifying hazards and risks on an ongoing basis, and conducting periodic Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental (K3LH) audits.
