Director of Human Resources of PTBA Ihsanuddin Usman revealed that the construction of two PLTS Irrigation is a form of the company's contribution in encouraging and expanding the use of New and Renewable Energy (EBT) in the community.

"Until now, PTBA has built 11 PLTS Irrigation around operational areas, including in Tanjungan, Muara Lawai, Tanjung Raja, Karang Raja, and Tanjung Agung, with a total of 1,169 beneficiaries and a watered area of approximately 639 hectares," he said in a statement to the media, Tuesday, October 21.

Ihsanuddin added, in addition to providing economic benefits for approximately 64 farmers, this Irrigation PLTS also contributes to more environmentally friendly agricultural practices, and contributes to reducing carbon emissions.

These two Irrigation PLTS are environmentally friendly power plants that began construction in May 2025 and finished in August 2025. Each PLTS has an installed capacity of 11.8 kilowatt peak, with a total of 20 panels standing on an area of 150 square meters, and capable of irrigating an area of about 20 hectares per village.

PLTS Irrigation Matas and Tanjung Karangan as well as nine other irrigation PLTS that have been built by PTBA are models for implementing new and renewable energy based on the community, in line with PTBA's commitment to realizing sustainable development in the energy sector and community empowerment.
