JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that currently there are 7 staff of the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal (Minerba) who are being investigated by law enforcement officials.
According to Bahlil, this is due to the behavior of mining entrepreneurs who do not comply with the rules and obligations set by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Bahlil said this was also in line with the suspension of IUP 190 mineral and coal mines that did not fulfill the post-mining reclamation obligation.
He said that employees of the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal were also examined by law enforcement officers because of the issue of verifying the Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) as well as the inconsistency of reclamation guarantees.
"There have been seven staff at Minerba who have entered the 'messagestren' just because of RKAB verification and there is no reclamation guarantee. I don't want me to be a minister who models like this, my staff entered the pesantren because of the fatigue of others. I don't want to," said Bahlil.
He explained that the government's move to suspend 190 IUPs by the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal was an effort by the government to enforce the rules so that permit holders who applied for RKAB fulfilled their reclamation guarantee obligations.
"Some have run out of mining without reclamation, then who will do this reclamation?" he asked.
