JAKARTA - Realizing financial inclusion to people with disabilities, Bank Jakarta collaborates with Indogrosir to inaugurate the Indogrosir Independent Store (TMI) Disabled which is located on Jl. Mandor Hasan, Bambu Apus, Cipayung, East Jakarta on Tuesday, September 30. The inauguration of the Indogrosir self-isolation store is a form of effort to encourage economic independence of persons with disabilities through an inclusive retail business model.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia, Veronica Tan, Director of Trade Business Development of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Septo Soepriyatno, Deputy Mayor of East Jakarta, Kusmanto, and Director of Business & Sharia Bank Jakarta, Dipo Nugroho.
In his remarks, Veronica Tan conveyed the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration to create equal opportunities
Difabel empowerment requires an ecosystem that involves all parties, government, the private sector, communities, and financial institutions. TMI Disabled is the real result of the collaboration to present an inclusive business space that allows people with disabilities to be empowered with their own efforts," he said.
TMI is an Indogrosir mentoring program for prospective entrepreneurs in the form of modern shops or stalls. In its implementation, Indogrosir synergizes with Bank Jakarta which focuses on supporting entrepreneurial candidates so that they can develop retail businesses in a modern and sustainable manner.
This model is now being adopted inclusively for people with disabilities through TMI Disabled, with the Indogrosir scheme as a provider of retail business models, disabled communities as business managers, and Bank Jakarta as a provider of financial service solutions, thus allowing disabled business actors to be more independent in managing their business.
Director of Business & Sharia Bank Jakarta, Dipo Nugroho, emphasized the company's commitment to developing inclusive MSMEs.
"Bank Jakarta believes that economic development must be inclusive. Our support for TMI Disabled is part of Bank Jakarta's sustainability strategy in expanding access to financial services, as well as building a just MSME ecosystem," he added.
