JPO Transjakarta Polda Metro Jaya Bus Stop Returns To Operation, Repair Fee Reaches IDR 3.5 Billion

JAKARTA - Director General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) Dewi Chomistriana inspects the pedestrian bridge (JPO) of the Polda Metro Jaya in Jakarta, Monday, September 8.

In her review, Dewi ensured that the JPO could resume operations starting today.

It is known that the Transjakarta Polda Metro Jaya Bus Stop was one of the infrastructure affected by the demonstration at the end of last August.

The bus stop was burned by the masses and caused quite severe damage.

"We are only improving the JPO. Well, of course it has been completed so far are parts that have suffered minor damage, which can be completed within 7 days. So, today it can be operationally operational," Dewi told reporters at the location.

However, Dewi said, repair work for the burning lift house still takes time.

He targets that the rehabilitation of the elevator will be completed in December.

"But we are still in the process of repairing those who are moderately damaged. Of course, we can see that one of them has a burning elevator house. So the structure must also be replaced, so we need time and we are targeting it to be completed by December 2025," he said.

He explained that his party had repaired the floor, roof and hand railing.

According to Dewi, the JPO at Polda Metro Jaya only suffered minor damage.

"So, the point is that we have resolved this light damage. And today, this afternoon it will be inaugurated to start functioning temporarily," he said.

Dewi said, the Ministry of Public Works allocated a budget of Rp. 3.5 billion for the improvement of the JPO Polda Metro Jaya.

"Yang JPO Polda ini karena kerusakan ringan dan paling berat ada lift, ya, hanya membuat biaya kurang lebih Rp3,5 miliar," tuturnya.

Previously, PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said that his party had prepared a budget of around Rp900 billion to rehabilitate public facilities throughout Indonesia damaged by demonstrations at the end of August 2025.

This was conveyed by Dody when he visited the location of the Pejompongan Toll Gate (GT) in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 2.

"The total cost of all of Indonesia yesterday was almost Rp900 billion," said Dody.

Dody bilang, anggaran tersebut akan dialokasikan untuk memperbaiki fasilitas-fasilitas umum yang rusak, seperti gerbang tol, halte, gedung DPRD hingga halte Transjakarta dan MRT.

"Kami ambil titik dulu yang paling utama gerbang tol. Karena, kan, tol itu hampir tiap hari dilalui oleh rekan-rekan kami semua dan halte Transjakarta serta MRT yang kena imbas," kata dia.

"Gedung-gedung DPRD di seluruh Indonesia kami juga akan merenovasi," sambungnya.

Dody said the budget would be allocated to repair damaged public facilities, such as toll gates, bus stops, DPRD buildings to Transjakarta and MRT bus stops.

"We take the first point, the main thing is the toll gate. Because, right, the toll road is passed almost every day by all of our colleagues and Transjakarta bus stops and MRT are affected," he said.

"We will also renovate the DPRD buildings throughout Indonesia," he continued.
