Take A Peek At The Progress Of The Probolinggo Banyuwangi Toll Road Built By Jasa Marga

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) continues to accelerate the completion of the construction of the Probolinggo 'Banyuwangi Toll Road. The toll road construction is still ongoing for the first phase of the Gending'Besuki section.

The construction was carried out by PT Jasamarga Probolinggo-Banyuwangi (JPB) as the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) with a total road length of about 49.6 kilometers (km).

Manager of Engineering Design and Administration Control of PT JPB M. Yoga Aulia said, overall the progress of the Probolinggo 'Banyuwangi Toll Road phase 1 has reached 85 percent.

"And our target (construction) will reach 100 percent in February 2026," Yoga said as quoted from the video upload on the official Instagram account @pu_jalan_jatimbali, Saturday, August 9.

Yoga said that the East Java-Bali National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) also routinely monitors and evaluates to ensure the quality and accuracy of the construction of the Bensuki Gending Toll Road.

After the progress of the toll road construction reaches 100 percent, it will be continued with the implementation of a function-worthy test which will be assisted by a team from the Ministry of Public Works (PU), the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), the police and other stakeholders.

"Our hope is that BUJT can certainly provide toll road connectivity in accordance with minimum service standards (SPM) that can support the community's economy and government programs, especially in the field of food security," he said.

It is known that the construction of the Gending'Besuki toll road section is divided into three work packages. Covering Package 1 Gending Kraksaan along 12.9 km, Package 2 KraksaanPaiton along 11.12 km and Package 3 PaitonBesuki along 25.6 km.

The Phase I construction will have three Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Kraksaan, GT Paiton and GT Besuki and 3 Kraksaan Intersections (SS), SS Paiton and SS Besuki.

In addition, it is also equipped with two rest areas located at Sta 33+65 towards Probolinggo and Besuki.

When the construction of the Besuki Gending Toll Road is complete, the travel time from Probolinggo to Besuki, which was originally about 75 minutes, can be cut to only 30 minutes with an average speed of 80-100 km per hour.

Overall, the Probolinggo Banyuwangi Toll Road project has a length of 175.78 km.

The construction is divided into two phases, Phase 1 connects Bensuki's 49.68 km and Phase 2 connecting Besuki Banyuwangi along 126.10 km.

The toll road is divided into seven sections, namely Section 1 Gending'Kraksaan (12.88 km), Section 2 Kraksaan 'Paiton (11.20 km) and Section 3 Paiton 'Besuki (25.60 km).

Then, there is Section 4 Besuki Situbondo (42.30 km), Section 5 Situbondo Asembagus (16.76 km), Section 6 Asembagus 'Bajulmati 37.45 km and Section 7 Bajulmati' Ketapang (29.59 km).

The Probolinggo Banyuwangi Toll Road is the final section of the Trans-Java Toll Road Network, which has so far been built from Merak to Probolinggo (Gending).

The section will be connected to the Pasuruan 'Probolinggo Toll Road Section 4A Probolinggo Timur'SS Gending.

If the construction of the entire Probolinggo 'Banyuwangi Toll Road is completed, Probolinggo's travel time to Banyuwangi can be cut to only about 2 hours from the previous 4-5 hours via the north coast (Pantura) national road.
