Minister Of Trade Budi Invites MSME Actors To Boost Exports To ASEAN

JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Budi Santoso invites micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to boost the potential of local products in the global market, one of which is to ASEAN countries.

Budi said that MSME business actors can take advantage of the momentum of the 2025 ASEAN Online Sale Day (AOSD) which will take place from August 8 to 10 to increase exports.

"We hope that MSME players can get to know the ASEAN country market better. We also need to optimize the momentum of AOSD 2025 to bring Indonesian MSMEs to be better known in the global market," Budi said at the Kick off and Sharing Session AOSD 2025 event, at the Ministry of Trade Office, Jakarta, Thursday, August 7.

Budi also mentioned the importance of the role of electronic commerce (e-commerce) in supporting MSME exports. Such as Shopee which facilitates Indonesian MSMEs, even outside the ASEAN region.

"This synergy is important in supporting the Ministry of Trade's program, namely MSMEs can be exported. It is hoped that this collaboration can continue to be strengthened," said Budi.

Meanwhile, the Director General of International Trade Negotiations of the Ministry of Trade, Djatmiko Bris Witjaksono, hopes that the 2025 AOSD can provide benefits and support MSME programs that can be exported.

Djatmiko said that since 2020, the Ministry of Trade has become the Task Force as well as the AOSD implementing agency.

The Ministry of Trade also plays an active role in increasing commitment to the realization of regional economic recovery, especially through e-commerce.

"We emphasize the importance of e-commerce role in increasing the growth and competitiveness of MSMEs in Indonesia. We hope that the launch of AOSD 2025 can provide benefits in improving the quality of Indonesian MSMEs in ASEAN," said Djatmiko.
