Strengthening Sharia Economics, Bank Indonesia And PP Muhammadiyah Sign Memorandum Of Understanding

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) and the Muhammadiyah Central Executive (PP Muhammadiyah) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the development of Islamic economics and finance (expert) in Indonesia.

The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding is expected to strengthen various initiatives and programs that will be carried out together, as well as a concrete step in realizing the vision and mission of making Indonesia the center of world sharia economy and finance.

Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo conveyed a memorandum of understanding between BI and PP Muhammadiyah as a form of joint effort in strengthening the ex-year in Indonesia.

He said that the MoU aims to be an umbrella in implementing exyar policy, especially in economic empowerment and deepening of the Islamic financial market.

Perry added that the second goal is to ensure that there is a transfer of knowledge between BI-PP Muhammadiyah, so that science in the field of exyar can be properly documented and continue to grow.

Furthermore, the third goal is to guide work to ensure the fulfillment of good governance principles in the formulation of the ex-system collaboration program.

"It is hoped that this cooperation can increase public awareness and understanding of the examination, which in the end can encourage sustainable national economic growth," he said in his statement, Wednesday, August 6.

On this occasion, General Chairperson of PP Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir said that the cooperation between BI and PP Muhammadiyah in the development of exyar was not only a program, but also played a role in maintaining economic and social stability of the community.

"This can be realized through the application of the sharia concept in order to create a just economy," he explained.

Haedar menyampaikan bahwa ekonomi yang berkeadilan yakni ekonomi yang berfokus pada pencapaian kemakmuran yang merata dan inklusif serta distribusi sumber daya yang adil bagi seluruh masyarakat, dan saling peduli dalam mengamalkan kebaikan.

Kerja sama BI dan PP Muhammadiyah telah dilakukan dalam berbagai kegiatan, yakni pemberdayaan unit bisnis pesantren di berbagai wilayah Indonesia, pengembangan ekonomi berbasis masjid, penguatan kelembagaan dan ekonomi usaha Muhammadiyah, termasuk penyusunan roadmap pengembangan Amal Usaha Muhammadiyah (AUM), serta Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF).

Haedar said that a fair economy is an economy that focuses on achieving equitable and inclusive prosperity as well as distribution of resources that are fair to the entire community, and cares for each other in practicing goodness.

The collaboration between BI and PP Muhammadiyah has been carried out in various activities, namely empowering Islamic boarding schools business units in various parts of Indonesia, developing mosque-based economics, strengthening Muhammadiyah's institutions and business economy, including preparing a roadmap for the development of Muhammadiyah Business Amal (AUM), and the Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF).
