JAKARTA - The Australian Capital Authority (OIKN) received a visit from Deputy Premier Sarawak Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah bin Ali Hasan at IKN, East Kalimantan, Sunday, July 27, 2025.

The visit was carried out to explore opportunities for cooperation and investment collaboration in IKN.

Deputy Premier Sarawak stated that IKN has great potential to be a game changer, a catalyst for economic collaboration, innovation and sustainable development at the regional level.

"I used to come to Zero Point IKN in 2022. Now, I'm back and seeing so many buildings have been built. The construction is extraordinary. IKN will be a game changer, not only for Indonesia, but also for us in Sarawak," he said as quoted from the official IKN website, Monday, July 28.

In addition to strengthening bilateral relations, the assessment is considered a momentum to pave the way for cross-sectoral cooperation between Malaysia, especially Sarawak and Indonesia.

On that occasion, Deputy Premier Sarawak also emphasized his party's commitment to establishing a strategic partnership with IKN.

"We are trying to see some good opportunities in the archipelago. Currently, one of the companies from Sarawak has also participated in the development of the archipelago. It is hoped that this can enlarge our collaboration," he said.

The IKN Authority also welcomed the initiative and expressed readiness to facilitate incoming investments.

"There are several investment interests from Sarawak, including in the small business sector such as the development of minimarkets. We emphasize that investment does not have to be on a large scale," said Deputy for Funding and Investment of the IKN Authority, Sudiro Roi Santoso.

"We are ready to assist and prepare all permits. Next week, we will submit project procedures and plans for potential investors," he continued.

Previously, the Head of OIKN Basuki Hadimuljono revealed that the total budget requirement for the IKN development phase II in the period 2025 to 2028 reached IDR 48.80 trillion.

Basuki explained that the budget was needed to support the construction of office areas, legislative housing, judiciary areas and their ecosystems.

"The budget requirement for the IKN Authority until 2028 which has been approved by the President (Prabowo) since January is IDR 48.8 trillion to build phase IKN II," Basuki said at a Working Meeting with Commission II of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 8.

Dalam paparannya, sepanjang 2025 ini, OIKN mendapatkan alokasi anggaran senilai Rp14,4 triliun yang digunakan untuk mengerjakan sejumlah proyek di Kawasan Inti Pusat Pemerintahan (KIPP) IKN, mulai dari jalan hingga kawasan legislatif.

Kemudian pada 2026, kata Basuki, OIKN memerlukan kebutuhan anggaran pokok mencapai Rp17,08 triliun.

Akan tetapi, pada tahun depan, OIKN bakal mendapat tambahan alokasi anggaran sebesar Rp4,1 triliun yang berasal dari sisa alokasi anggaran tambahan pada tahun ini.

Sehingga total pos anggaran OIKN pada tahun anggaran 2026 sebesar Rp21,18 triliun.
