JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that his party is preparing technical regulations regarding coal and gold commodity exit duties.
According to him, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources opens opportunities related to the implementation of export duties starting next year.
"Later we will make at what economic price in the global market, then we will charge out duty rates," said Bahlil, Monday, July 14.
Bahlil explained, later if commodity prices increase, exports of these two commodities will be subject to export duties. On the other hand, if the price of gold and coal plummets, the government will waive out duties.
"If the price is good again, it's okay to share with income to the state. But if the price is not economical, then we shouldn't make it difficult for entrepreneurs," he explained.
The chairman of the Golkar Party said that later the exit fee would be flexible and regulated through the Ministerial Regulation (Permen) of Energy and Mineral Resources.
Previously, this policy was discussed by the government together with Commission XI of the DPR RI which stated the expansion of the basis for state revenue through the imposition of duties to come out of gold and coal products.
