JAKARTA - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) stated that the Netherlands had prepared an investment of US$300 million or Rp4.89 trillion (exchange rate of Rp16,304) to support various programs run in the country, ranging from free nutritious food (MBG) to providing affordable housing.
Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Anindya Bakrie, in a statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 10, stated that this was conveyed by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Indonesia, Timor Leste, and ASEAN, Marc Gerritsen during an audience with his party.
According to Anindya, later on June 16, 2025, as many as 120 Dutch companies will come to Indonesia in the context of trade and investment missions.
The delegation will focus on three main sectors, namely food security, maritime affairs, and water management.
"The mission is very serious. They are not only focused on Jakarta, these 120 companies will be divided, later some will go to Medan, Semarang, and Makassar, depending on the topic," said Anin.
The Netherlands, according to Anin, is the largest investor in the European Union region in Indonesia with a contribution of around 46 percent of Europe's total investment.
"So, it's huge. Not only because of good relations, but economically very significant," he said.
In addition to priority sectors, this meeting also discussed social programs such as MBG, the provision of affordable houses, and the potential for cooperation in the provision of migrant workers, including sailors and workers in the health sector.
"The target is how to find partners, not only trading partners, but investment partners. They also have an international investment. 300 million US dollars that Indonesia wants to focus on to start a long-term business. So, it seems very concrete from the government," he said.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Indonesia, Timor Leste, and ASEAN, Marc Gerritsen appreciated Kadin's openness and support in this great mission.
He emphasized that the cooperation with Kadin was very strategic to bridge Indonesia's development needs with the advantages of the Dutch private sector.
