This is part of the construction of the Jakarta coastal embankment which is included in the National Strategic Project (PSN).

PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said the construction of the embankment on the coast of Jakarta Bay Phase 7, was a step to overcome land subsidence and reduce the risk of flooding in Jakarta and its surroundings.

"Security of the coast is one of the priority programs of the Ministry of Public Works and is part of the National Strategic Project (PSN)," said Dody in his official statement, Monday, June 9.

The plan to build coastal safety on the coast of Jakarta Bay Phase 7 package 1 in Ancol River and Dadap River. The construction of the Kali Ancol Package 1 embankment is planned to be 100 meters long sourced from the APBN and carried out in single years contract (SYC) in 2025. The current status is in preparation for the auction.

Meanwhile, the construction of the next 7 package stage embankment is planned to be 850 meters long in the Ancol River, West Muara Baru and Cilincing.

This activity budget is in the proposing stage with a source from State Sharia Securities (SBSN), carried out in a multi-year contract (MYC) 2026-2027.

In stage 7, a police system in Kali Dadap will also be built as a unit of an integrated flood control system with the Integrated Construction of the State Capital City Coastal Integrated Development (PTPIN) sourced from SBSN carried out by MYC 2026-2027.

As for 2024, the construction of the Jakarta coastal safety embankment by the Ministry of Public Works has reached a total length of 14.75 kilometers consisting of six stages of work spread across the Kalibaru, Kamal Muara, Muara Baru, Kali Ancol and Dadap areas.

The Ministry of Public Works emphasized that the construction of sea embankments is part of an integrated flood control system which also includes the provision of clean water and wastewater management.

This effort is integrated with the construction of the Karian Dam and Jatiluhur to meet the needs of clean water and the Jakarta Sewerage Development System to improve the quality of water in the downstream area.

"This integrated approach is expected not only to reduce the risk of flooding and abrasion, but also to prevent land subsidence due to excessive exploitation of groundwater," he said.
