JAKARTA - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) through its official YouTube channel launched the first episode of BUMN Unleashed. This program was guided by Spokesperson for the Ministry of SOEs, Putri Violla, and presented the President Directors of various SOEs as resource persons, this podcast will share stories about how SOEs play a role in running their business, while creating social and economic changes for the Indonesian people.

The fifth edition of the Unleashed SOE this time highlighted the flagship program of PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM), namely the Prosperous Family Economic Development Program (Mekaar) which was launched in 2015, by presenting the President Director of PNM, Arief Mulyadi, who told an inspiring story from Mrs. Piana, a customer of PNM Mekaar from Bojonegoro, East Java.

In his interview, Arief said that through the financial assistance from Mekaar, Ibu Piana, who has been a customer of PNM since 2019, was able to develop her small shop to support the family's economy. From this effort, she supports her family, including raising a child, Fadly Alberto, who was in the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup yesterday, successfully scored a goal for the U-17 Indonesian national team.

This inspiring narrative about Ibu Piana in BUMN Unleashed is one clear proof of how the presence of SOEs does not only focus on achieving profit. SOEs exist to change people's social and economic lives, especially for those on the front lines of the micro-economic secretary.

The Mekaar program from PNM has had a significant direct impact on empowering women and micro-enterprises in various regions. By providing easy access to financing, Mekaar opens opportunities for many families, especially in pre-sesejahtera areas, to be economically independent.

Since its launch the first time in 2015, until now the Mekaar Program has reached 15.8 million customers and helps them to increase financial literacy and business capabilities. The challenges of the Mekaar Program are also quite large, including reaching unbankable customers and ensuring that this program is not only focused on urban areas, but can also reach pre-sesejahtera communities in remote areas.

However, with an inclusive community-based approach and strategy, the Mekaar Program has succeeded in showing that long-term success is not only seen from the amount of disbursed financing, but also from the ability of customers to be economically independent.
