PTPP Collaborates With 23 SOEs To Present PLTS And Reverse Osmosis In Batam

JAKARTA - As a tangible manifestation of the commitment to supporting sustainable development, 23 SOEs including PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) collaborated in the Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL) to present Solar Power Plants (PLTS) and the Reverse Osmosis system at the Darussalam Al Gontory Islamic Boarding School, Tanjung Piayu, Batam.

The inauguration of this program was marked by a band scissors procession attended by representatives from 23 BUMN collaborators, representatives from Jenderal Sudirman University (UNSUD), and local governments. This program aims to meet electricity needs and provide clean water for 50 students and 15 pesantren administrators who previously did not have access to electricity and still depend on sea water.

PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo said this initiative not only supports the sustainability of clean energy and access to drinking water properly, but is also in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in terms of quality education (SDG 4), access to clean water and sanitation (SDG 6), as well as clean and affordable energy (SDG 7).

"We hope that with the PLTS and the Reverse Osmosis system, students can learn more comfortably and get access to cleaner water. This is a form of our concern in building a better future," said Joko, in his statement, Monday, March 17.

He added that PTPP participated in this program as part of the Rebuild Tomorrow Project initiative. Since its establishment in 1953, PTPP has continued to contribute to various sustainability-oriented infrastructure and energy projects.

"This collaboration is a clear proof that the synergy between SOEs can have a positive impact on society and the environment. And this program can be an inspiration for more similar initiatives in the future," Joko hoped.
