JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) targets that the revitalization of the Terban Market in the city of Yogyakarta can be completed in July 2025. The project has been carried out since September 18, 2024.
"This market renovation is planned to last for 300 calendar days, with a completion target on July 14, 2025," said PU Minister Dody Hanggodo in a written statement, quoted Monday, February 24.
Dody also instructed the Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) to ensure that the waste disposal system functions properly.
He also emphasized the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the surrounding environment so as not to pollute residents' water sources, especially during the rainy season.
According to Dody, this needs to be done to achieve the target of becoming the first hygienic chicken market in Indonesia.
"Higienic is not just a slogan, but it must really be implemented. Do not let the waste pollute people's drinking water, especially during the rainy season," he said.
It is known, Terban Market has a land area of 7,838 square meters with a total of three-story building covering an area of 9,857 square meters. The facilities in it include 505 units consisting of kiosks, stalls and expanses.
