BSI Maslahat Builds Emergency Mosques And Renovates Hospitals In Gaza

JAKARTA - BSI Maslahat held a Talk Show and Live entitled Love for Palestine' to coincide with the distribution of phase VII Palestinian humanitarian aid in the Hall of the BSI Maslahat Headquarters, Friday, February 14.

Since the ceasefire in Palestine on January 19, 2025, the Palestinian people have again felt the warmth of gathering with their families while waiting for the presence of the month of Ramadan.

BSI Maslahat (bsimaslahat.or.id) is the National Amil Zakat institution and Nazhir Waqf is at the forefront of strengthening the sharia economic ecosystem.

BSI Maslahat is committed to continuing to spread the benefits of accompanying the Palestinian struggle. BSI Maslahat in collaboration with partner distributors of the Al-Khair Foundation, Satibi Foundation and Qudwah Indonesia, helped restore Palestine.

BSI Maslahat together with the Al Khair Foundation, built primary infrastructure in the form of drill wells, solar panel systems, electricity generators and clothing assistance for winter. BSI Maslahat also renovated the construction of Abu Yousef Al Najjar Hospital in Rafah with Qudwah Indonesia. In addition, BSI Maslahat built an emergency mosque that is suitable for worship in collaboration with the Satibi Foundation.

Since November 2023 BSI Maslahat has distributed 6 stages of Palestinian humanitarian program assistance. Through Baznas and the Al Khair Foundation. In phase I amounted to 1 M, Phase II amounted to IDR 1.3 M, phase III distribution amounted to IDR 2.1 billion, phase IV distribution of IDR 4.3 billion, phase V distribution of IDR 3.6 billion and phase VI distribution of IDR 1.7 billion.

This seventh phase of humanitarian assistance was symbolically provided through selected partners with a total of Rp. 2.1 billion. So that the total distribution of BSI Maslahat for this Palestinian aid amounted to Rp. 18 billion.

Present as speakers at the Talk Show Cinta Untuk Palestine, namely Mr. Athallah Abuouda as Deputy Director of AKF Southeast Asia Region; Mr. Lukman Hakim, as President Director of Qudwah Indonesia; and Muhammad Saleh Abutiyun representing Satibi Indonesia.

"It is important to participate and contribute to infrastructure recovery for the destruction that is taking place in Palestine. Alhamdulillah, today BSI Maslahat invited 3 selected partners to distribute Palestinian humanitarian aid," said Sobirin as Director of Waqf & Empowerment of BSI Maslahat.

Lukman Hakim as President Director of Qudwah Indonesia said that the health sector in Palestine was paralyzed. A total of 33 hospitals were destroyed and 1,036 doctors died, so emergency hospitals and health worker assistance were the main concern of Qudwah Indonesia.

"Together with BSI Maslahat, we hope to do our best for the construction of the hospital. In fact, it opens up opportunities for volunteer doctors and nurses from the country," said Lukman Hakim.

"Towards the Holy Month of Ramadan 1446 H, BSI Maslahat together with AKF also prepared clean water, temporary shelter, food and other primary needs," said Mr. Athallah. Fasting is not an obstacle that hinders the enthusiasm of Palestinians to continue to enliven Ramadan.

Mr. Soleh from the Satibi Foundation conveyed directly that the current condition of Gaza, as many as 800 mosques, had been destroyed.

"Usually Gazans welcome Ramadan by decorating the mosque and holding it for circumcision. We may need more than two or three years to be able to rebuild the mosque in Gaza. Therefore, together with BSI Maslahat we need to build an emergency mosque in Gaza," he said.
