Aqua Manufacturer Opens Voice About Deadly Accident At Ciawi Toll Gate

JAKARTA - PT Tirta Investama, which is a producer of drinking water in Aqua brand packaging, opened its voice regarding the deadly accident that occurred at the Ciawi Toll Gate (GT) on Tuesday night, February 4.

It is known that the accident involved several vehicles, one of which was a truck belonging to a transporter company which is a partner of one of the Aqua distributors.

Director of Communications Danone Indonesia Arif Mujahidin expressed his condolences to all victims. Tirta Investama is a company under the auspices of Danone.

"The accident that involved several vehicles and caused victims is of course a concern for all of us. Our prayers for the victims of the accident last night," said Arif in a written statement, Wednesday, February 5.

Arif emphasized that the transporter companies and distributors involved are independent entities that have no connection with ownership with PT Tirta Investama.

"Transporter companies (the owner of trucks and the driver's employer) or distributors who use transporter services are independent parties, have no connection with PT Tirta Investama as an Aqua producer," he said.

According to Arif, his party will also continue to monitor developments related to the incident and coordinate with related parties.

"We continue to monitor this incident and coordinate with related parties and hope that this problem can be resolved as well as possible," he concluded.

Previously, a series of accidents occurred at the Ciawi 2 Toll Gate (GT), precisely on KM 41+400 of the Jagorawi Toll Road towards Jakarta, Tuesday night, February 4.

The accident occurred when a truck carrying gallons of mineral water was out of control and hit several vehicles lining up at the toll gate.

As a result of the accident, three substations at GT Ciawi 2 were damaged, one truck and five MPV vehicles were heavily damaged.

Eight people were declared dead, four people were seriously injured and seven people suffered minor injuries.

Until now, the process of evacuating and handling victims has been carried out. Thus, the traffic flow around the scene gradually returned to normal. The police are still investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
