JAMBI - Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Jambi Regional Police have named six suspects in the case of a member of the East Tanjungjabung Police (Tanjabtim) who was found dead in a dormitory room on Saturday, July 18.
Head of Public Relations of the Jambi Police, Kombes Erlan Munaji, said the six people who were named as suspects consisted of five police officers and one civilian.
The five suspects are members of the National Police, namely Aiptu MA, Aipda EF, Bripka DHR, Brigadier UVS, and Bripda EBD. Meanwhile, one civilian suspect has the initials B.
"The six perpetrators are currently in custody and are being prosecuted. The investigators are still investigating the case and we will inform you further because the case is still under investigation," said Erlan.
The investigation into the death of Brigadier EWS, a member of the East Tanjung Jabung Police (Tanjabtim), continues.
Until now, the Jambi Police have examined as many as 13 witnesses to uncover the facts behind the death of the police officer.
Erlan said the examination of the witnesses was carried out by the investigators of the Criminal Investigation Unit together with the Propam Unit of the Jambi Police and was supervised by the National Police Headquarters.
The examination process is still going on in a marathon to delve into all information related to the case.
Of the 13 witnesses who have been examined, eight are civilians. They consist of the victim's family, doctors, and residents around the crime scene (TKP).
Meanwhile, the other five witnesses are personnel from the Tanjung Jabung Timur Police who are suspected of having links to the investigation process into the death of Brigadier EWS.
