Jasa Marga Predicts 3,057,246 Vehicles Leave Jakarta During Christmas And New Year Holidays

BEKASI - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR) predicts that as many as 3,057,246 vehicles will leave the Jabotabek area during the long holiday period of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 (Nataru 2024/2025).

This was conveyed by Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana at a press conference at the Jasamarga Tollroad Command Center, Bekasi, West Java, Friday, December 13.

"Proyeksi keluar Jakarta pada 18 Desember sampai dengan 4 Januari 2025 mencapai 3.057.246 kendaraan, naik 17,9 persen terhadap lalin normal dan 2.4 persen terhadap tahun lalu," ujar Lisye.

Lisye said the vehicle would leave Jakarta via four main toll gates (GT), namely GT Cikampek Utama, GT Kalihurip Utama, GT Ciawi and GT Cikupa.

He said the peak of the 2024 Christmas homecoming is predicted to occur on December 21 with a total of 235,381 vehicles. This figure is an increase of 41 percent compared to normal traffic, an increase of 0.9 percent of traffic flow last year.

"Meanwhile, the peak of the New Year's homecoming occurred on December 28, 2024, as many as 205,276 vehicles," he said.

Furthermore, Lisye said, Jasa Marga has also coordinated with relevant stakeholders to anticipate an increase in traffic volume in the Nataru period.

According to Lisye, there is a Joint Decree or SKB which has been signed on December 6, 2024 at the Ministry of Transportation. The signed decree regulates three things.

First, limiting the operational time of goods transport vehicles axis 3 and above from December 20 to December 22, December 24, December 26 to December 29 and January 1, 2025.

Second, the implementation of contraflow engineering in the Jakarta and Jagorawi sections as well as the implementation of one way if needed according to police discretion.

"Finally, the temporary suspension of construction activities from 18 December 2024 to 5 January 2025," he added.
