Extreme Weather And Natural Disasters Become The Ministry Of Transportation's Attention Ahead Of The Eid Homecoming Period

The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) of extreme weather is a special concern for the homecoming holiday period and the return of Eid al-Fitr or Eid Al-Fitr 2024.

The Director General of Railways at the Ministry of Transportation, Mohamad Risal Wasal, said that extreme weather has the potential to cause natural disasters. For example, floods to landslides.

To anticipate this, Risal said the Directorate General of Railways had made a number of efforts. First, ensure the readiness of Material Equipment for Alert or AMUS, and facilities at several points.

Then, he continued, supporting railway facilities will be on standby to anticipate disturbances. A number of means in question include locomotives, rescue trains, cranes, and carriages.

"We have prepared AMUS for standby materials. We also have spare locomotives, crane trains, and others," said Risal.

Risal said the Ministry of Transportation would also add personnel to be ready to monitor vulnerable areas.
