JAKARTA - Indometa's move to expand the function of its non-fungible token (NFT) to promote tourism and the creative economy (parekraf), received a good response from the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno.

“The NFT, which is currently very hot and looks exclusive, turns out to be something that is affordable both in terms of price and function of the NFT itself. This opens up more equitable opportunities, and shows that NFT has clear functions and utilities," said the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, as quoted by Antara, Sunday, February 27.

Pixel owners are said to be able to upload images/photos like works of art, create links as a form of promotion according to the wishes of each owner, or do both at once.

Furthermore, Indometa is said to be launching a new product soon, namely Interactive NFT, which is a new innovation promoting the creative tourism sector by increasing unlimited public participation in the digitalization era.

With this, economic revival, increased business opportunities, and job opportunities are considered achievable.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy wants Indometa to use digitalization, especially in the tourism sector, so that economic opportunities are open and people can earn an additional income online.

"Opportunities and opportunities to increase employment opportunities must be encouraged," said Sandiaga.

Furthermore, he assessed that NFT should be able to reach tourist villages and creative villages which are the mainstay loci to revive the creative tourism sector.

One of the Co-Founders of Indometa Irene hopes that Indometa will be a one-stop solution for tourists to get guidance on routes and tourism plans.

Indometa is stated to have an interactive map concept equipped with, among other things, tourism information and fun facts about Indonesia, which consists of 100 thousand hexagonal pixels.

"People can buy and own pixels at a price of IDR 100.000 in NFT form," he said.
