Garuda Indonesia Transports 12 Tons Of Mangosteen For Export To China

JAKARTA - The national airline Garuda Indonesia reported that it had transported 25 tons of garment products from Sukabumi, Bogor and Semarang to Dubai in the UAE, and 12 tons of mangosteen fruit from Bali to Shanghai and Guangzhou in China.

"The superior product of ready-to-use garment commodities and the mangosteen fruit managed by local communities is one of Indonesia's leading export potentials which can certainly improve the local economy of the Indonesian people," said Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfan Setiaputra in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Friday 29 October.

Irfan explained that the transportation of ready-to-wear garments was served from Jakarta to Dubai with special charter flights on October 24, 2021, while shipments of mangosteen fruit from Bali to Shanghai and Guangzhou were flown on regular flights in mid-October 2021.

The delivery of the two leading commodities, he said, is served by using the B777-300 ER fleet which has a carrying capacity of up to 40 tons on each flight.

Support for the transportation of national superior commodities is also Garuda's seriousness in ensuring the availability of connectivity between regions both domestically and internationally, especially for the accessibility of export commodity direct call activities.

"This is in line with our commitment to improve the competitiveness of the national export sector, which we present through fast, safe, and competitively priced flight services," Irfan explained.

Furthermore, he conveyed that he would optimize the commitment to providing distribution channels for national export commodities through the accessibility of air cargo services to various export destination countries.

Irfan is committed to strengthening the development of the cargo sector business line, one of which is by serving the Manado - Narita, Denpasar - Hong Kong, Makassar - Singapore and Surabaya - Hong Kong flight routes in line with the growing trend of cargo transportation needs.

In addition, Garuda Indonesia is also developing the accessibility of the cargo flight network through charter flight services for cargo delivery needs via direct flights or point to point which is also optimized by the operation of the passenger freighter fleet.
