Held An Innovation Competition, Sri Mulyani's Subordinate Seeks Policy Breakthroughs In The Midst Of Pandemic Challenges

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Suahasil Nazara said that the pandemic situation was a challenge in itself in producing a public policy.

The reason is, the current conditions require that state administrators can create regulations that are relevant to the needs of the community but in the context of an unprecedented situation.

"That's why this competition was held because we want to find as many innovation formulas as possible that can produce better policies for the public," he said through a virtual channel, Tuesday, September 28.

According to Suahasil, one of the targets in this innovation activity is how the state apparatus, especially those within the Ministry of Finance, can continue to optimize performance so that it can facilitate public activities optimally.

"We continue to try to innovate so that we can provide the best service for Indonesia," he said.

For that, he continued, the roadmap for formulating government policies begins with discussion and exploration of the thoughts of each individual that can be explored in this event.

"Therefore I want everyone here to keep thinking, we strengthen innovative ways of working for the bureaucracy that serves the public as a whole, effectively and efficiently," he said.

For information, the Ministry of Finance Innovation Competition (KIKK) 2021 is held with the aim of increasing awareness and building the spirit of innovation for Ministry of Finance officials and employees.

To note, the financial statements of the Ministry of Finance 2020 and the Financial Statements of the State General Treasurer (LK BUN) obtained an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) from the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK).

This result is 10 times in a row the Unqualified Opinion (WTP) from the BPK since 2011. Likewise, LK BUN which obtained the fifth WTP opinion in a row since 2016.

However, BPK still provides notes for improvement in the form of recommendations. The Ministry of Finance is committed to continuing to seriously follow up on the findings by BPK based on the recommendations provided. Thus, the management of state finances will be of higher quality.

"This is our homework together, how to lead these innovations to produce comprehensive and better policies for public services," concluded the Deputy Minister of Finance, Suahasil.
