Indonesia Successfully Suppresses The Spread Of COVID-19, Luhut: I Never Feel This Is My Job, This Is Teamwork

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that Indonesia's success in handling the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic was not only due to him but also the result of teamwork.

As is known, currently the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia has begun to improve. This is reflected in the daily person positivity rate as of September 22, which is at 1.47 percent.

Confirmation cases on that date also recorded an increase of 2.720. Compared to the previous month, this figure has decreased considerably.

"The success of handling COVID-19 yesterday was actually the work of a team. No one should claim that it was because of him. That's why I never felt that this was because of my work," he said.

According to Luhut, the success of handling the COVID-19 pandemic in the country has also contributed to young people in his office, students, to public security and order (kamtibmas). Don't forget the support from the Military Area Command (Pangdam), Regional Police Heads (Kapolda), Head of Police Resorts (Kapolres), Military District Command (Koramil), to the National Armed Force (TNI) Commander and Head of National Police (Kapolri).

"One team. I think it can be like this I think of course because of the strong leadership of the president," he said.

Luhut also reminded the public to remain vigilant and not be careless in implementing the COVID-19 health protocol. Because COVID-19 is still very threatening and looming.

"Last night I was with friends abroad, they appreciated it but they also share the same view as me. Because the medicine has not been found and the vaccine efficacy is still around 70 percent," he said.
