Construction Of The West Java Cisumdawu Toll Road Using Explosives Made By BUMN PT Dahana

JAKARTA - Explosives from the state-owned company PT Dahana help accelerate the construction of the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan or Cisumdawu toll road.

"The application of Dabex explosives for blasting in the toll road construction sector is a solution so that toll road construction can be effective and efficient," said Director of Operations of PT Dahana (Persero) Bambang Agung in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Friday, September 17.

Agung also explained that the fifth generation of bulk explosives and the fourth generation of explosives initiation systems are present as a solution to the impact of blasting and have the ability to accelerate project completion more quickly, especially PSN, which is mostly managed by BUMN Karya.

"There are 4 things that are key in managing the impact of blasting on construction projects. The first is explosives technology. The second is the ability to supply and operate blasting support equipment. The third is the competence of the team that carries out the blasting work and the fourth is the management system that is implemented measured to keep blasting activities in compliance with internationally used standards," he said.

Bambang Agung carried out a working visit to review the blasting project for the Cisumdawu Toll Road construction on Thursday, September 16. Bambang Agung who was accompanied by the General Manager of the Quarry & Construction Division Dahana Setio Budhianto said he was satisfied with the progress of the team's work in the field using Dabex explosives.

The fifth generation of explosives was again used to accelerate the Cisumdawu toll road construction project. The blasting process is one of the solutions to accelerate the completion of projects that are faced with quite heavy terrain. The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing targets the Cileunyi - Sumedang - Dawuan or Cisumdawu Toll Road in West Java to be inaugurated by the end of 2021.

The explosives engineered by Dahana's Energetic Material Center (EMC) are used for toll road elevation reduction and the formation of toll benches. In this project, Dahana collaborates with BUMN Wijaya Karya with a contract period of three months.

The construction of the Cisumdawu Toll Road will later connect the community to access to the West Java International Airport (BIJB), as well as being predicted to accelerate economic growth in West Java. With the Cisumdawu Toll Road, the people of Bandung - Majalengka can accelerate their mobility to one hour or less, from the previous three hours of travel.

The Cisumdawu toll road has a total of 60.10 km and is divided into six work sections consisting of, Section I Cileunyi - Rancakalong along 11.4 km, Section 2 Rancakalong - Sumedang 17.05 km, Section 3 Sumedang - Cimalaka 4.05 km, Section 3 4 Cimalaka - Legok 8.20 km, Section 5 Legok - Ujungjaya 14.9 km, and Section 6 Ujungjaya - Dawuan 6.06 km.

"Hopefully the construction process can go according to plan, which in the end can be immediately utilized by the community," said Bambang Agung.
