Installing PLTS At 5,000 Pertamina Gas Stations Has The Potential To Save Electricity Bills Of IDR 4 Billion Per Year

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) targets the installation of solar power plants at 5,000 public refueling stations which has the potential to save IDR 4 billion a year from electricity bill costs.

"The installation of PLTS at 5,000 gas stations is estimated to have the potential to reduce emissions by 34 thousand tons of carbon dioxide per year," said Chief Executive Officer of Pertamina New Renewable Energy Dannif Danusaputro in his statement, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, September 15.

The energy transition that is being carried out by the company carries the concept of a Green Energy Station or a green Energy Station that provides integrated and environmentally friendly services.

The solar power plant is installed using an on-grid system that is integrated with the electricity supply network as a storage area for energy generated from solar heat.

Based on research by BloombergNEF for the period 2010-2020, PLTS investment costs have fallen drastically by 90 percent.

The reduction in power generation costs is in line with the development of technology and increasing economies of scale, so that the cost of installing PLTS will be competitive compared to fossil fuel-based power plants.

"HSSE Golden Rules has become a culture at Pertamina where security and safety aspects will not be separated from any of our operational activities, so consumers don't have to worry," said Dannif.
