YOGYAKARTA The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto as a suspect in the alleged bribery case of interim replacement (PAW) Harun Masiku. The determination of the suspect Hasto was carried out through a series of exposures or case titles last Friday. So, how is the journey of the Harun Masiku case involving Hasto? Based on information compiled by VOI, the journey of Harun Masiku's case involving Hasto began with the KPK's Hand Arrest Operation (OTT) against KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan on January 8, 2020.

Wahyu was arrested for allegedly accepting bribes from Harun Masiku to smooth out the Interim Change (PAW) process for DPR Members 2019-2024 at the KPU.

In this case, Harun seeks to replace Nazarudin Kiemas, the candidate for the DPR RI elected from PDIP who died in March 2019.

Nazarudin's position should have been replaced by Rizeky Aprilia who took second place in the 2019 Legislative Election I of South Sumatra.

However, PDIP actually proposed Harun Masiku who took sixth place. Harun was proposed as a replacement for Nazarudin through the PAW process.

PDIP even had time to submit a fatwa to the Supreme Court and wrote to the KPU to inaugurate Harun. However. The KPU remained firm with the decision to inaugurate Reizky because Harun did not meet the requirements to replace Nazaruddin.

Next, Harun tried to lobby Wahyu Setiawan to cancel the KPU's decision. Wahyu also agreed to Harun's request, but he asked for operational funds of Rp900 million.

Next, Harun sent Rp850 million to Wahyu through the PDIP DPP secretariat staff named Saeful Bahri. Wahyu received the money through Bawaslu member Agustiani Tio Feidelina (ATF), who is also Wahyu's confidant.

Even though he has spent quite a lot of money, in fact, Harun still fails to become a member of the DPR. The KPU remained in the early decision, namely to make Riezky Aprilia a replacement for Nazaruddin.

Wahyu then contacted an advocate named Doni, who is a confidant of Harun and Hasto Kristiyanto, and again promised to try so that Harun could be appointed as a replacement for Nazarudin through the PAW scheme.

At that time, Wahyu asked for additional money. However, his action was stopped because the KPK immediately sniffed out his actions. Wahyu was then arrested by the KPK through OTT which was held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020.

In the OTT, the KPK secured eight people in different locations. They are Wahyu Setiawan and his assistant Rahmat Tonidaya; member of Bwaslu Agustiani Tio Fedilina, Staff of the PDIP DPP Secretariat Saeful and his driver; an advocate named Doni; and two members of Wahyu's family, namely Ika Indayani and Wahyu Budiani.

However, in the OTT, the KPK failed to arrest Harun Masiku who managed to escape. Harun's whereabouts were monitored around the Police Science College (PTIK), but attempts to catch up were fruitless.

Harun was later named a fugitive from the KPK in January 2020. Harun has also been prevented from traveling abroad. Even so, until now the whereabouts of Harun Masiku are unknown.

The bribery case of PAW Harun Masiku also dragged the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto (HK). The KPK found evidence of Hasto's involvement in the investigation and search process for Harun's DPO.

"That during the investigation of the case file and the search for Harun Masiku is ongoing, investigators found evidence of Hasto's involvement as Secretary General of PDIP," said KPK Chairman Setyo Budianyo at the KPK building, South Jakarta, Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

Setyo said that Hasto was actively trying to thwart Rezky Aprilia as the elected DPR candidate. He made a number of steps so that Nazarudin's position could be replaced by Harun Masiku through the PAW scheme.

"Brother HK in parallel is trying to get Sister Rezky to resign so that she can be replaced with HM's brother. However, this effort was rejected by sister Rezky Aprilia," explained Setyo.

The anti-corruption commission also found evidence that Hasti had asked Saeful Bahri to meet Rezky Aprilia in Singapore. The meeting was intended for Rezky to resign, but the effort again found a dead end.

After the attempt failed, Hasto then bribed Wahyu Setiawan, who at that time was a KPU commissioner.

"Brother HK in collaboration with Harun Masiku and Saeful Bahri and DTI's brothers made an attempt to bribe Wahyu Setiawan and Agustiani Tio," said Setyo.

On that basis, the KPK also named Hasto as a suspect in the bribery case of PAW Harun Masiku.

Not only that, Hasto was also charged as a suspect in the obstruction case of the investigation. He allegedly ordered Harun to turn off his cellphone to delete evidence and asked him to run away immediately.
