Inaugurating Halal Hub At Rest Area 72A Of The Jakarta-Padalarang Toll Road, Erick Thohir: Open To All Business Actors

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Islamic Economic Community (MES), Erick Thohir said that to make Indonesia a halal hub, a more macro approach is needed. According to him, this is done so that people know more closely and use halal products.

Erick Thohir said these efforts need to be supported by implementation on a micro-scale. One of them is by providing halal product sales centers that are easily accessible to all levels of society at affordable and competitive prices.

"The inauguration of rest area 72A (Jakarta-Padalarang Toll Road) as a Halal Hub is intended to be a forum for halal business actors, which is an important element in moving the halal industry market so that their business can grow," he said in a written statement, Saturday, August 28.

Erick Thohir said the Halal Hub in rest area 72A is projected to be able to accommodate 1,000 halal business actors from the small to medium sector. Places of worship and community arenas for Muslims are also ready to be built.

The inaugural launch of the Halal Hub in an area that is often used by toll road passers-by to rest and refuel is a breakthrough to bridge and become a forum for business actors to introduce various halal products. So that the rest area, which is located on the left side of the travel route, which is always crowded on weekends or holidays, will become a new attraction for visitors.

"This location is open to all halal business actors who need a location to sell products while educating the public so that awareness of halal continues to increase," he said.

Erick Thohir said the government was continuing to develop the Halal Industrial Estate (KIH). So far, there have been three KIHs, including the Modern Cikande Industrial Estate in Serang, Banten, the Safe n Lock Halal Industrial Park in Sidoarjo, East Java, and the Bintan Inti Halal Hub halal industrial area in Bintan Regency.

"As the largest Muslim country in the world, we want Indonesia to be known throughout the world, which has begun to shift its desires so that the halal lifestyle soars rapidly," he said.
