Four PT Angkasa Pura I Airports Adjust Operational Hours During Emergency PPKM

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura (AP) I adjusted the operating hours of four airports during the Emergency-Restrictions Community Activity (PPKM) until July 20.

The four airports are Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar, Yogyakarta International Airport - Kulon Progo (YIA), General Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang, and Syamsudin Noor Airport in Banjarmasin.

"Four PT Angkasa Pura I airports have started to adjust their operating hours in response to the decline in flight traffic during the Emergency PPKM period. This is an efficiency measure for the company in the midst of business challenges in facing the implementation of a policy of tightening air travel requirements due to the spike in cases of COVID-19 transmission", said Vice President Corporate Secretary of PT Angkasa Pura I, Handy Heryudhitiawan quoted by Antara, Friday, July 9.

Handy explained that the operating hours of Makassar Sultan Hasanuddin Airport during the Emergency PPKM period were adjusted to 06.00 - 19.00 WITA (13 hours) from 04.00 - 21.00 WITA (17 hours), while the operating hours of Yogyakarta - Kulon Progo International Airport became 07.00 - 16.00. WIB (9 hours) from 07.00 - 19.00 WIB (12 hours).

Meanwhile, the operational hours of General Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang will be 09.00 - 15.00 WIB (6 hours) from the previous 06.00 - 18.00 WIB (12 hours), while the operating hours of Syamsudin Noor Airport Banjarmasin will be 08.00 - 16.00 WITA (8 hours) from previously 07.30 - 18.00 WITA (10.5 hours).

"Several other PT Angkasa Pura I airports are also evaluating operating hours", he said.

Since the Emergency PPKM, he said, passenger traffic at 15 airports dropped from 73,214 passengers on July 4 to 28,279 passengers on July 5.

Meanwhile, passenger traffic on July 6 to 8 did not differ much from traffic on July 5, namely 29,979 passengers on July 6, 29,100 passengers (7/7, and 26,777 passengers (8/7).

His party also held vaccination activities at the airport where on July 8 4,671 prospective passengers had been vaccinated at the PT Angkasa Pura I Airport Vaccination Center.

Most vaccination participants were at Sentani Jayapura Airport (1,403 people), then Lombok Praya Airport (785 people), and Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport (549 people).
