Be President Commissioner At Pertamina, Ahok Admits He Is Often Threatened: Many Want To Move Me

JAKARTA - Pertamina's President Commissioner, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok, revealed the difficulty of being a high-ranking official in the energy sector State-Owned Enterprises in this case PT Pertamina. In fact, Ahok admitted that he received various threats.

Ahok said that as the board of commissioners, his main task was to oversee the performance of the board of directors and the entire company. Therefore, he admitted that he had to accept that many people did not like him in making decisions.

Furthermore, the former governor of DKI Jakarta said that the risk of becoming a committee member for BUMN is having many enemies. So it is not impossible, he can lose the position at any time.

"Today I am still at the Pertamina Komut, tomorrow and tomorrow it will be unclear. Many want to move me", he said in a virtual discussion, Thursday, July 8.

Ahok admitted that he understood the difficulty of practicing ethics, especially in large companies such as state-owned enterprises. In fact, he said, several things that he had highlighted actually ended up being threatened and hostile.

Recently, this Pertamina Komut made a scene about its credit card limit. He explained the reason for stating that his credit card had no limit to show ethical issues.

"Just like my credit card, I did it on purpose, IDR 30 billion, it said it was the Dekom limit, I didn't dare to put much. My secretary paid for it. They were angry, "no, you're only IDR 75 million". I challenge you to open it, you use it anywhere, don't you dare open it, it means there is a fraud", he said.

According to Ahok, it is very easy for him to test someone's honesty. He said, if honest, the person should have the courage to show it.

"He has honesty or not, if you are honest why don't you dare open it. The term is KPK, if you are clean why are you afraid", he said.

Furthermore, Ahok said things like this needed to be done as a form of transparency. This includes all forms of procurement of goods that must implement transparency. On that basis, he also emphasized that he did not care about the threats or displeasure of many parties against him.

"In fact, in the end, there are many enemies with education like this. I'm scared though people close to me, I really think. I said, 'I've often been scared of people, I've never been to prison. Why bother, I've been threatened too many times", he explained.
