JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) has recorded an increase in energy consumption during the implementation of the 2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) 2026 Task Force (Satgas) which took place from November 13 to December 31, 2025.
Vice President of Corporate Communication PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, said this increase was in line with the increase in community mobility during the year-end holiday period.
In the Nataru 2025/2026 period, retail fuel consumption increased compared to the average consumption from September to October 2025.
"Gasoline consumption increased by more than 0.7 percent, diesel oil increased by about 0.6 percent, and kerosene increased significantly by more than 9.7 percent," said Baron, quoted on Saturday, January 3.
He added that the increase in kerosene consumption was in areas that had not yet converted kerosene into LPG, namely in parts of East Kalimantan, Papua, Maluku, NTT, and remote islands where community activities increased when celebrating Christmas.
Apart from fuel, the Satgas Nataru Pertamina also noted an increase in the consumption of LPG of 3.2 percent, which reflects the increase in household activities and small business sectors during the long holiday.
In the aviation sector, along with the 10 percent discount in the Nataru period, Avtur consumption was recorded to increase by 3.9 percent. This is in line with the increase in the number of air transport passengers in the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 periods.
"During the 2025/2026 Nataru Task Force period, Pertamina ensures the availability of national energy in a safe condition. We alert all energy infrastructure and operational personnel to ensure that the supply of fuel, LPG, and Avtur can meet the increasing needs of the community during the Christmas and New Year holidays," Baron continued.
Baron added, this time the Nataru Task Force, Pertamina also paid special attention to disaster-affected areas in several areas in Sumatra.
"In disaster-affected areas, Pertamina continues to strive to distribute fuel and LPG so that it continues to flow gradually. This step is taken to support the recovery of community activities and ensure that energy services are still available. We remain committed to serving the community wholeheartedly," he explained.
For information, the Pertamina Nataru Task Force has been implemented since November 13, 2025 and will last until January 11, 2026, as a form of Pertamina's commitment to maintaining supply reliability.
