Pertamina Boss Says Ready To Absorb Oil From People's Wells

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Simon Aloysius Mantiri revealed that he is ready to accommodate oil produced by people's oil wells. Just so you know, Pertamina is one of the Contractors for Cooperation Contracts (KKKS) that can manage oil produced by people's wells.

This is in line with the decision of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia who will immediately legalize people's oil wells to be managed by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), cooperatives, and Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD).

"Of course, the regional leaders have conveyed these hopes, including later there may be a solution so that the payment is faster," said Simon, quoted on Friday, October 10.

Meanwhile, in terms of price, Simon ensured that he would follow the rules set by the government, which amounted to 80 percent of the price of Indonesian crude oil or Indonesian Crude Price (ICP).

"And for prices, we also convey that it is in accordance with the provisions, namely 80 percent of the ICP as stated," explained Simon.

Through Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Number 14 of 2025 concerning Cooperation in Management of the Working Area for Oil and Gas Production Improvement, the government encourages improvements in the governance of people's oil wells to be more orderly, safe, and sustainable.

Through this new policy, around 45,000 wells have been inventoried by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, involving Provincial and Regency/City Governments, to be managed by the community through Cooperatives, MSMEs, and BUMDs recommended by Regional Heads.

"Not appointed as well as from the center. So that it is certain that Jakarta MSMEs are not allowed, Jakarta cooperatives are not allowed. We want to make local people the masters in their own country. So let the local people themselves take care of it," said Bahlil.
