President Jokowi Will Watch Live Gotong Royong Vaccinations Of Sinar Mas Group, Conglomerate Eka Tjipta Widjaja's Company

JAKARTA - Sinar Mas Group is ready for Gotong Royong vaccination for thousands of its employees in an effort to end the COVID-19 pandemic and support programs to accelerate and expand vaccine coverage.

"Being a company that vaccinates employees through the Gotong Royong Vaccination umbrella is not only an effort to protect our employees, but more broadly is the commitment of the industrial sector to jointly accelerate the establishment of community's immunity to break the chain of the spread of COVID-19," said Sinar Mas Managing Director Saleh Husin in his written statement, as quoted from Antara, Tuesday, May 18.

Gotong Royong vaccination itself is the implementation of vaccinations to employees, families, and other individuals in the family whose funding is charged to legal entities or business entities.

For workers and those who fall into that category, they will get a free OR no levy on the COVID-19 vaccine. Financing will be borne by companies or legal entities that facilitate the workers.

The plan, President Joko Widodo, and the relevant ministers also attended virtually in the vaccination centered in Jababeka, Cikarang, Bekasi, on Tuesday.

Nearly 600 employees of Marunda Refinery Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food were vaccinated using the Sinopharm vaccine, then gradually reaching up to 3,000 employees.

Among the 19 companies that started the Gotong Royong vaccination, joined Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) Sinar Mas which vaccinated 4,000 employees at PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper, Tbk Tangerang Mill.

In accordance with Regulation of the Minister of Health No. 10 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Vaccination in order to Counter the Corona Virus Disease Pandemic 2019 (COVID-19), the activities initiated by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry are dependent on the industrial sector.

Not only that, the process must take place outside the government-owned health care facilities.

Earlier, the spokesperson of the Minister of SOEs and Public Communication Coordinator of KPCPEN Arya Sinulingga said Indonesia has received Sinopharm vaccine around 1 million doses by the end of April 2021.

Sinopharm vaccine is intended for Gotong Royong Vaccination program which is different from the government vaccination program.

"The trick is that these entrepreneurs want to vaccinate their employees or workers. This is their contribution to the government and to the country. The funds, the purchase, and the vaccination process are borne by private friends registered by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin)," he said.
