Two Companies In Bandung And Cimahi Are Still In Arrears For 2020's THR

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPD Confederation of All Indonesian Workers Unions (KSPSI) West Java, Roy Jinto Ferianto, said two companies in Cimahi City and Bandung Regency have not completed the Eid al-Fitr holiday allowance or THR in 2020.

"In 2020, the government provides space for entrepreneurs to pay THR until December 2020. But until now there are two companies that have not fulfilled their 2020 THR obligation," Roy Jinto Ferianto at the Discussion Waiting for THR 2021 held by the Bandung Journalists Discussion Forum (FDWB) and DIM Unpad in Bandung, as quoted from Antara, Friday 30 April.

He said there were still companies that were in arrears for THR in 2020 due to the impact of the central government policy that allowed companies to pay in installments or postpone THR payments.

Roy Jinto took issue with this because referring to the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 6 of 2016, there was no mention of the THR payment which was allowed to be postponed or in installments.

"THR is the income of non-wage workers which is mandatory. Now, because the company can conduct deliberations and negotiations, the THR is not paid on time," he said.

He emphasized that article 2 and article 5 of Permenaker No.6 of 2016 are the key for companies to fulfill employees' rights to receive THR.

"This new rule violates the existing rules. Workers are at a huge disadvantage," he said.

The economic package policy made by the central government is aimed only at the interests of entrepreneurs.

"Don't always use COVID-19 as an excuse. The garment industry has been running normally after Eid al-Fitr last year. However, the government does not benefit from workers," he said.

Until now, there are still many workers who do not report companies that do not pay THR, one of which is because they do not have a work schedule.

"There are companies that pay THR in installments in the form of production goods. They are worried that there will be an accumulation of THR, which last year had not been paid," he said.
