The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has completed the construction of the Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) 1 to serve waste in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN), East Kalimantan.
The construction of this TPST is under the responsibility of the East Kalimantan Regional Settlement Infrastructure Agency (BPPW) of the Directorate General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of Public Works, carried out by the implementing contractor PT Brantas Abipraya-SBS-Silcon (KSO) at a state budget cost of Rp505 billion.
"The TPST 1 construction is designed to be able to process waste into new and renewable energy, so that it is more environmentally friendly and in line with the principles of the capital city of the archipelago as a smart city and a sustainable modern city," said Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti as quoted from her written statement, Thursday, April 17.
TPST 1 IKN itself was built on an area of 22.15 hectares with a unique and futuristic design adopting modern elements and aesthetically integrated construction style in harmony with a green environment.
This TPST is designed with a waste processing system into new renewable energy, organic and inorganic waste will be separated and recycled as reusable goods.
Then, organic waste is converted into compost, handles non-recycleable waste and does not produce emissions above the specified standards or Net Zero Emission (NZE) and residues from minimum processing.
