Al-Ittifaq Kopontren Becomes A Pilot For The Red And White Kopdes Ecosystem

JAKARTA - The Al-Ittifaq Islamic Boarding School Cooperative (Kopontren) in Bandung Regency, West Java Province will be used as a pilot or role model for the establishment of the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes).

"This is a good role model that can be used as a training ground and a place for apprenticeship for administrators and managers of the Red and White Village Cooperative. This is an extraordinary revolution, namely, God willing, it will bring villages to have economic institutions," said Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono, quoted Wednesday. March 19.

According to Ferry, this Kopontren deserves to be used as a role model because it already has good governance in terms of institutional organization and business governance, with which the Al-Ittifaq Kopontren will also be used as a place for learning, training and internships for administrators of red and white village cooperatives.

"We want all the administrators of the Al-Ittifaq Kopontren and their alumni network to help train the management and managers of the Red and White Village Cooperatives later," he added.

Ferry hopes that by making Kopontren Al-Ittifaq a role model, it is not impossible that it will transmit the same success to other cooperatives in various regions, of course by prioritizing the advantages of each region's products.

Moreover, continued Ferry, there are Revolving Fund Management Institutions that are also ready to support cooperatives in terms of access to capital, such as Kopontren Al-Ittifaq, which has become a cooperative partner rather than LPDB with a sharia financing scheme.

"Hopefully these Red and White Village cooperatives will also be able to bring the same progress felt by other village communities throughout Indonesia. LPDB also provides facilitation of support," explained Ferry

The Al-Ittifaq Kopontren itself has become an offtaker for fruit and vegetable farming products grown by farmers in the Bandung Regency area, then marketed to modern retailers and modern markets from West Java to Jakarta.
