PT Pos Indonesia Is Expected Not To Always Depend On Government Projects

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VI DPR RI from the NasDem faction Asep Wahyawijaya emphasized to PT Pos Indonesia not to always depend on government projects.

Asep in his statement quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 11, said that the growth of the logistics sector business, which in 2024 contributed around 14 percent or Rp1,400 trillion, is enough to mark that the delivery service business is still bright.

"PT Pos Indonesia as a state-owned company in the shipping and logistics services sector should seize this opportunity by always innovating in its business services," said the representative from the West Java V (Bogor Regency) electoral district.

Asep regretted that PT Pos Indonesia's total revenue in 2024 only reached Rp5.7 trillion. In fact, he said, his business network was the largest and most.

Moreover, PT Pos Indonesia is the oldest shipping service company when compared to other competitors.

"With the power of its business network which includes 4,300 branches, 30 thousand sales points and tens of thousands of workers, partners can lose by TIKI, who are much younger and only have representatives in 65 big cities, 500 representative offices, 3,700 outlets and 6000 employees," said Asep.

According to him, PT Pos Indonesia should dominate the shipping and logistics business in Indonesia. With business capital and the large number of workers from the government, he assessed that PT Pos Indonesia was doing an easy job.

"Perhaps this is what makes the board of directors and other administrators complacent, so that when I read a portal who is the best logistics company in Indonesia in 2024, it turns out that PT Pos Indonesia ranks third after Tiki and JNE as the champions," he said.

He encouraged PT Pos Indonesia to make the business vision much more revolutionary, independent so that it does not depend continuously on shipping projects from the government.

"If it is likened to hunting, PT Pos is like hunting animals in animal kebon, I think in the future it will no longer be a priority for its business. PT Pos must also be ready and prepare itself to be able to hunt in illegal forests," he said.

PT Pos Indonesia conveyed the theme of the 2025 RKAP which wanted to strengthen the synergy of SOEs, so that they could take the opportunity for delivery businesses from other SOEs whose expenditure value exceeded Rp280 trillion. Asep assessed that this condition is a potential market niche so that it has the potential to increase PT Pos Indonesia's revenue and profit.

The question is now, how is the readiness of technological innovation already owned so that speed, accuracy and efficiency and transparency in its delivery can be carried out.

"I think this is much more important to do by PT Pos Indonesia, not asking for support from the DPR so that it can solely be projects from the government," said Asep.
