Bulog Has Absorbed 38,705 Tons Of Farmer's Harvest Results

JAKARTA - Perum Bulog revealed that 38,705 tons of domestic rice had been procured until February 8, 2025.

As for this year, Bulog was assigned to absorb 3 million tons of rice.

Head of the Institutional Relations Division of Perum Bulog Epi Sulandri said that when viewed in the last three years, the amount of grain and rice procurement in the period January to February 2025 was the largest when compared to previous years.

"We have procured grain or rice in the country until yesterday (February 8, 2025) already 38,705 tons," he said in an inflation control meeting in 2025, quoted from the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs' YouTube, Monday, February 10.

Furthermore, Epi said, the procurement of grain and domestic rice will continue until April 2025.

"So that we can achieve the target of procuring 3 million tons until April," he explained.

The procurement target of as much as 3 million tons of rice equivalent is divided into three schemes. First, purchases in the form of harvested dry unhulled rice (GKP) amounted to 1.2 million tons or 600,000 tons of rice equivalent.

Then, the purchase of milled dry unhulled rice (GKG) is 1,417,237 tons or 900,000 tons of rice equivalent. Finally, the purchase of 1.5 million tons of rice.

Epi said to achieve this target, Bulog also carried out a number of strategies such as synergizing in the procurement of grain or rice at regional offices (kanwil), branch offices (cancab) with farmers, farmer groups (poktan), farmer groups (gapoktan) through cooperation between makloon partners and several associations.

Not only that, continued Epi, Bulog also deployed personnel to the field to optimize the absorption of grain or rice through the Gabah pick-up Team.

The team, continued Epi, collaborated with the Liaison Officer Team, to absorb farmers' unhulled rice by involving the ranks of the TNI/Polri in the field as a form of extra ordinary effort.

In addition, said Epi, the establishment of a procurement post in the regional or regional offices to facilitate coordination between Bulog and farmers or Gapoktan.

"Daily monotoring to facilitate control and acceleration of the absorption of grain and rice in the country," he explained.
