Erick Calls VinFast Interested In Becoming A Sponsor Of The Indonesian National Team

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and Chairman of PSSI Erick Thohir said that the electric car company from Vietnam, VinFast, was interested in becoming a sponsor of the Indonesian national team.

Meanwhile, VinFast has entered Indonesia through its subsidiary, Xanh SM, as a taxi company.

Erick also revealed that VinFast had communicated with PSSI regarding his desire to sponsor the Indonesian national team.

VinFast, has also come to PSSI. 'Can you be a sponsor?' Erick said when he was a speaker at the MINDIALogue event at The Energy Building, Jakarta, Thursday, January 9.

Regarding VinFast's offer, Erick said that his party would accept an offer if his cooperation benefited both parties.

Furthermore, Erick did not deny that building the Indonesian national team needed large funds. Therefore, he said, his party welcomes anyone who wants to be a sponsor of the Indonesian national team.

"We built this national team, we need large funds. So we just welcome it as long as it's a win-win," he said.

Erick admitted that until now there has been no agreement between PSSI and VinFast regarding the cooperation plan. Even so, he hopes that there will be no public negative opinion regarding the spongehorship cooperation.

"But don't say we don't have nationalism anymore. This is the problem. There are no local car people, right," he said.
