Airlangga Calls 2024 Discount BINA Program Transactions Capai Rp25.4 T

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that the total transaction of the 2024 Discount Shopping Program in Indonesia (BINA) which took place from December 20 to 29, 2024 has reached IDR 25.4 trillion.

The achievement of this transaction value increased 15 percent compared to the transaction value in 2023 which was recorded at IDR 22 trillion, exceeding the target of 10 percent.

"This increase shows the public's high enthusiasm for this discount program and its effectiveness in driving the wheels of the economy," said Airlangga as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 31.

This program is an initiative of the government and business actors to encourage public spending so that it can increase domestic consumption, strengthen the use of local products, and make Indonesia an attractive shopping destination for domestic and foreign tourists.

Airlangga explained that one of the main focuses of the 2024 BINA Discount program is promoting local products.

This program involves various local products, including products of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from the total product offered.

This shows the Government's commitment to supporting local business development and increasing the competitiveness of Indonesian products in the domestic market.

He added that the 2024 BINA Discount Program was carried out thanks to solid cooperation between the Government, retail entrepreneur associations, MSME players, and various related parties.

"Active participation of 80,000 outlets in 396 shopping centers from 24 provinces, both local and global brands, has contributed to the success of this program," said Airlangga.

As part of the series of BINA Discount 2024 programs, the peak event of the Big Bang Festival has also succeeded in attracting the attention of the wider community.

The Big Bang Festival is not only a year-end celebration event, but also a platform to strengthen interactions between business actors and consumers, as well as promote superior Indonesian products.

With the various achievements obtained, the Government hopes that the BINA Discount program can continue and become a routine agenda that has a positive contribution to the national economy.

"With the increasing participation of various parties, this program is expected to provide greater benefits for the community and the national economy," Airlangga concluded.
