Bank Indonesia Encourages People To Use IDR 75.000 In Cash For Giving Holiday Allowance

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) encourages people to use IDR 75.000 of Independence Commemorative Money (UPK) as Holiday Allowance (THR).

"For the expansion of UPK IDR 75.000 exchange, we encourage not only as a collection but also as Holiday Allowance for Eid Al-Fitr", said Chief Executive Director of BI Money Management Department Marlison Hakim during an online press conference in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, April 14.

Marlison said that Bank Indonesia is implementing a new policy to attract people to exchange UPK 75 Years of the Republic of Indonesia (RI).

If in the previous policy, one ID Card Number (NIK-KTP) can only be used to exchange UPK 75 Years RI as much as 1 time with the amount of 1 sheet per day, specifically the Eid Al-Fitr 2021 period, each NIK-KTP can exchange as many as 100 pieces every day.

"Now the condition is that one ID card can exchange 100 pieces per day and can be repeated every day", said Marlison.

In addition, the mechanism and redemption time of UPK 75 for the Eid Al-Fitr period is also facilitated. If previously the fastest individual redemption was made on H+1 after making a booking through the PINTAR website (https;//pintar.bi.go.id), now individual exchangers can choose the redemption time at H+0. People book and exchange on the same day when the booking is made before 11:30 a.m.

Marlison asserts up 75 Years RI is a legal means of payment in all regions of the Republic of Indonesia. The UPK 75 redemption has been reopened since March 2 and can be redeemed at Bank Indonesia and other banks.
