AQUA And The Indonesian Mosque Council Increase Strategic Partnerships To Encourage People's Welfare

JAKARTA - AQUA today, Friday 6 December, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) located at the AQUA Factory in Mekarsari, Sukabumi. The signing of the MoU aims to further strengthen the strategic partnership between AQUA and the Indonesian Mosque Council that has been established so far in improving the welfare of the people. On this occasion, the Indonesian Mosque Council also signed an inscription as a symbol of the inauguration of the Al-Uyuun Mosque within the factory environment.

The partnership of the Indonesian and AQUA Mosque Council covers various programs, including the development of a social economy and worship facilities for Muslims in Indonesia, as well as empowerment of entrepreneurship for communities around the mosque. In addition, focus will also be given on realizing a green, clean, and healthy mosque environment to create wider sustainability for the community.

The leaders of the Indonesian Mosque Council who attended the Mekarsari AQUA Factory include: Dr. (HC) Drs. H. Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, Chairman of DMI, Dr. H. Imam Addaruqutni, Deputy Chairperson of DMI, Novian Zein, SE., Akt, Deputy Secretary General, and Alfian Nando, Executive Secretary of DMI.

Meanwhile, the AQUA leadership ranks were represented by Janto Utomo, Commissioner & Representative of the AQUA Founding Family, Vera Galuh Sugijanto, VP General Secretary of Danone Indonesia, and Krisvan Sarendeng, Head of AQUA Mekarsari Factory.

"I would like to express my appreciation to all AQUA leaders, because it is the first AQUA to teach us to drink a cleaner drink. AQUA has shown high dedication in providing real social contributions to society, one of which is through partnerships with the Indonesian Mosque Council. This strategic partnership is in line with our principle, namely building, maintaining, and congregation in the mosque. Through this joint effort, we hope to further improve the welfare of the people through various empowering programs, and jointly prospering the community," explained Jusuf Kalla.

Vera Galuh Sugijanto, VP General Secretary of Danone Indonesia, said that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding today further strengthens AQUA's strategic partnership with the Indonesian Mosque Council that has been established so far.

"For us, this partnership is part of AQUA's commitment, namely to channel the widest possible goodness for the people of Indonesia, including Muslims. We are very grateful to the Indonesian Mosque Council for this extraordinary cooperation. God willing, this collaboration will be able to build a solid foundation for Indonesia's a more prosperous future," said Vera.

This partnership is also in line with the values that AQUA has preserved since it was first established. Janto Utomo, Commissioner & Representative of the Family of Founders of AQUA, admitted that he always remembers his father's message to prioritize the value of 'jointness' which focuses on mutual benefits.

"We believe that this togetherness is the key to creating a harmonious work environment and has a positive impact, both for employees and the community. One of the programs that we continue to run until now is the Hajj program for employees, and we hope that the impact can be more widespread through collaboration with the Indonesian Mosque Council, especially for the Muslim community," said Janto.

As part of the partnership program, on November 16, 2024 ago, the AQUA and the Indonesian Mosque Council initiated the Umrah Khadimatul Mosque Program. This program was attended by 20 khadimatul mosques from various regions in Indonesia, such as Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, and North Sumatra. This activity is a form of appreciation for the khadimatul of mosques who have been dedicated in serving the people and have made a positive contribution to the community.

In addition, in the same spirit to support others, AQUA also provided assistance to ease the burden on people affected by the disaster in Sukabumi. Assistance of Rp. 100,000,000 and 5,000 bottles of AQUA were distributed through the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). Meanwhile, assistance of Rp. 50,000,000 and 5,000 bottles of AQUA were distributed through the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). This assistance is expected to help the people of Sukabumi who were affected and accelerated post-disaster recovery.

These humanitarian measures are also in line with the basic principles of AQUA in collaborating and supporting various parties for the common good. In carrying out its commitment to continue to spread goodness for the people of Indonesia, AQUA is always open to establishing partnerships with various parties. In addition to establishing partnerships with the Indonesian Mosque Council, AQUA has also collaborated with various Muslim organizations in Indonesia, such as PBNU, LPBI NU, LP Ma'arif NU, RMI NU, Islamic Boarding School Economics Union, PP Muhammadiyah, as well as Islamic boarding schools and mosques in various regions in Indonesia.
