JAKARTA - Pasuruan Regency noted that the 2024 Tobacco Products Excise Sharing Fund (DBHCHT) reached IDR 372 billion.

Acting Regent of Pasuruan Nurkholis said that DBHCHT will be allocated for various programs.

"Pasuruan Regency received a fairly large DBHCHT this year, which is a total of IDR 372,777,271,445. These funds will be used for various programs in the health sector, community welfare, law enforcement, and other regional priorities," he explained to reporters, Thursday, December 5.

Nurkholis said that the funds will be allocated to the health sector amounting to Rp224 billion or around 60.14 percent of the DBHCHT funds consisting of payment for JKM and handling stunting, to procurement of drugs, medical devices, and construction of health facilities.

"The total funds allocated for this field reached Rp224,173,241,373 (60.14%) which will be carried out by three OPDs, namely the Health Service (39.37 percent), Bangil Hospital (14.82 percent), and Grati Hospital (5.94 percent)," he said.

Furthermore, for the community welfare sector, it will be allocated Rp. 91 billion or 24.56 percent of the total DBHCHT, the programs include road construction and maintenance, support for IKM, job training, and direct cash assistance (BLT) for cigarette factory workers and tobacco farmers.

For the field of law enforcement, it is IDR 6.9 billion or around 1.85 percent to eradicate illegal cigarettes, consisting of socialization, eradication operations, and monitoring.

In addition, he conveyed that the Pasuruan Regency Government was also aggressively socializing and enforcing the law to eradicate illegal cigarettes, which succeeded in destroying 8,534,408 illegal cigarettes, 90,000 grams of illegal slash tobacco, and 346.02 liters of illegal alcohol ethyl-contained beverages until August 1, 20024.

Nurkholis added that the emergence of illegal cigarettes, in addition to harming consumers, also reduces the potential state income from excise on tobacco products, which will greatly harm the general public who are entitled to receive the use of DBHCHT.

"With the DBHCHT and efforts made, Pasuruan Regency is optimistic that it can continue to improve people's welfare and build better areas," he concluded.

For information, Pasuruan Regency has also contributed to state revenues from tobacco excise of IDR 63 trillion.
