BTN and Mandiri Capital Indonesia Establish Investment Cooperation To Encourage Housing Ecosystem Growth

JAKARTA - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) and PT Mandiri Capital Indonesia (MCI) today have officially collaborated through the BTN Fund Ventura strategic partnership.

This initiative is designed to encourage the growth of BTN's main business by investing in startups that can provide technology-based solutions. The business sectors that are targeted include the housing, construction, financial and banking services, Software, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sectors.

Ronald S. Simorangkir, President Director of MCI, said that this collaboration with BTN is in line with MCI's strategy to encourage economic growth, especially in strategic sectors which are also the priority of government programs, including Housing, Strengthening MSMEs, Digital Economy, and ESG.

"With the collaboration of BTN and MCI strengths, we are optimistic that we can encourage the creation of innovation and integration of an inclusive and sustainable digital ecosystem in Indonesia," he said, in a written statement, Thursday, January 9.

This strategic partnership between BTN and MCI in the form of BTN Fund opens up investment opportunities for startups that can provide added value to the BTN business ecosystem that supports the transformation and digitization process of BTN. In carrying out the investment process, BTN Fund prioritizes the principles of risk management and prudence by paying attention to business fundamentals and financial performance of startups before investing.

Furthermore, Setiyo Wibowo, Director of Risk Management of BTN hopes that the formation of BTN Fund can help BTN has strategic partners in the form of Fintech, Proptech, or Startups in the AI sector and operations that can support the development of the housing and financial ecosystem.
