JAKARTA - PT Multi Harapan Utama (MHU) as part of the MMS Group Indonesia (MMSGI) has again made achievements by receiving the Tamasya Award (Community Welfare Mining Mining). This award is part of the Minerba Expo 2024 peak event organized by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) through the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal (Ditjen Minerba) which took place at the Kartika Expo Center, Balai Kartini, Jakarta, Tuesday 26 November.

In this event, MHU won the 2024 Tamasya Award as the winner in the Community Development and Empowerment Performance (PPM) of the Coal Commodity for the large-scale mining category (production capacity of more than 10 million metric tons). The Tamasya Award 2024 was given directly by the Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Yuliot Tanjung to the Director of MHU Faiz Firdaus Fauzan who was present at the event.

According to Yuliot, the Tamasya Award not only reflects contributions and dedication, but also hard work and enthusiasm to continue to contribute to the nation's development. PPM is one of the efforts to overcome the gap between the mining industry and the need for community empowerment around mining sites such as aspects of education, health, social, economy, environment, institutions to sustainable infrastructure.

"The mining sector has contributed to GDP in 2024 by around 12 percent by having a positive impact on economic equality in the regions, especially outside Java. On the other hand, it also reduces the inequality of the Gini ratio in the March 2024 survey to 0.379 compared to the previous period in March 2023 by 0.388," said Yuliot.

According to Faiz, MHU has collaborated with the community and all stakeholders in carrying out the transformation so that the implementation of PPM can run optimally to realize the economic independence of the community around its operational area in a sustainable manner.
